Se tem uma premissa positiva que esse furacão que assolou a humanidade, através da pandemia do COVID-19 proporcionou, foi o impulsionamento de novos projetos culturais, através do fazer artístico possibilitado pelo tempo ocioso decorrente do isolamento social. Nesse processo, podemos destacar aqui o artista francês que atende pela alcunha de LMLM. O EP repleto de sensibilidade musical, “We Are Screwed”, surgiu desse processo.
“‘We Are Screwed’ é principalmente sobre amor, mas também sobre depressão, ansiedade, aquecimento global, racismo, sexismo, pensamentos misantrópicos… Fui influenciado por Mac Miller, Billie Eilish, mas também pelo Radiohead e até pelos Beatles para escrever essas músicas”, afirma LMLM mediante o seu processo de concepção artística.
As canções realmente permeiam por várias dessas referências, o indie-pop-rock acaba transitando pelas sonoridades das mais díspares (inclusive raízes de black music, como o hip-hop), sempre com a voz adocicada e simultaneamente forte de LMLM conduzindo a sensibilidade da verve poética apresentada.
“Don’t Dare Disrespect a Billie Elish” é um grande destaque, a homenageada em questão deve ter ficado orgulhosa com o clima atmosférico, repleto de camadas etéreas da canção, que realmente remete ao repertório da mesma.
